Volume 1 - Squad Jam


A 183 cm tall female university student, Kohiruimaki Karen, has a complex about her tall figure and has a poor social disposition because of it. This was changed by the VRMMO game «Gun Gale Online» (GGO). In the game, Karen obtained a dream "chibi" avatar much less 150cm in height, put on a full-body pink uniform and, as the player "LLENN", had fun in the world of GGO. A beautiful player "Pitohui" appeared before LLENN. She was a rare female player in GGO and so the two hit off well――but one day, LLENN was asked to take part in a team battle royale formal tournament «Squad Jam» by Pitohui......

The 2nd Squad Jam was suddenly announced to all players in Gun Gale Online. Although the victor of the first tournament, LLENN (Kohiruimaki Karen), heard the announcment, she did not really feel interested in it.

However, a mysterious stalker crept up on Karen, and told her that people would die on the night of the 2nd Squad Jam. The man claimed that the "worst case" could only be avoided by defeating Pitohui, who would be participating in the tournament. After much anguish, Karen decided to participate in the tournament, but......

"On the night of the second Squad Jam, people will die".

Due to the impact of this phrase, the tide of the Squad Jam changed completely. With "the death of Pitohui in the real world" at stake, the only way to avoid the worst scenario is for LLENN to kill Pitohui......

Deciding to participate in the tournament, LLENN formed a tag team with her old friend named Miyu from her home town who converted her account from ALfheim Online, and the two, armed with a pink P90 and grenade launchers in both hands respectively, beat down formidable enemies in succession.

While LLENN and her friend are struggling to reach Pitohui as fast as possible, Pitohui herself with demon-like strength and madness is annihilating participating teams as if she was enjoying "death".

Can LLENN rescue Pitohui?

      We are planning to do it, but right now, I'm too swamped with University stuff to make any progress on translating. And I want to publish something else before officially starting on volume 3.

      I'm glad you liked the translation. We'll probably only start releasing volume 3 in February, as I have exams this month and can't work on any of the more time consuming projects till I'm done with my exams.

    In the last week, i was think the SAO Anime is stupid.
    But now i has read the Gun Gale Online spin-off Light Novel and i like it.
    The Story about Kirito ist very stupid, but a Anime about LLENN should be good.

      What exactly are you referring to as "kuchie"? I was going to add all the illustrations in a full text version if I ever got around to it, but since the series has been licensed... that's probably not going to happen anymore. The illustrations are available on the SAO wiki though.

    I had a great time reading the first 3 books. I was wondering if you were going to translate the last 2 or if that isn’t possible because of copyright issues?

      *Last 3. The series currently has six volumes, not five.

      To answer your question, we will not be continuing the translation of the series past volume 3 due to legal concerns, as the series was licensed in English. That, and because it's a waste of time to translate something that will be translated by an official source anyway.

      As we've announced earlier, we dropped the project the moment Yen Press licensed the series. There is no point to continuing the fan translation when Yen Press is way ahead of us already.
