Volume 1
«Asuka Empire».
A long-living Japanese-style VRMMO game that started service in the midst of the SAO Incident.
This game, where Yuuki, Ran and the others formed the «Sleeping Knights» guild, also had a hidden story――
The Battle Miko Nayuta and the ninja Koyomi. The two girls who met in «Asuka Empire» by chance and became friends encountered a strange Priest in-game.
The elderly priest wished to request help from a «detective» to «solve» a certain quest. And he planned to pay 1,000,000 yen for the job.
The two girls were shocked by the exorbitant payment, but the «detective» who accepted the strange request was an equally strange young man. All of his stat points were invested into «luck»―― meaning that he was a tricky player who was absolutely weak in battle, but had an extremely high rare item drop rate......
The solution of the mystery in a cutting-edge VRMMO world by the «shady detective» , along with the two girls, now begins.
Chapters:
- Chapter 1 - Mitsuba Detective (三つ葉の探偵)
- Chapter 2 - The Visiting of the Fox (狐の見舞い)
- Chapter 3 - The Phantom Orchestra (幽霊囃子)
- Final Chapter - Nayuta's Tears (那由他の涙)
- Afterword + Animate bonus stories
Is Clover's Regret a standalone volume? Or is it the first in its own SAO Alternative series?
ReplyDeleteRight now it's a standalone volume, as the story is no longer continued on the Dengeki Bunko magazine itself. HOWEVER, Clover's Regret is now getting side stories (that are as big as the chapters in the tankoubon) as part of character books released bimonthly as an appendix to said magazine. At this rate, it should have more than enough content for a second volume (if not a third volume as well) by the end of the year.
DeleteWill there be a PDF for the volume?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteyes there will be. Unfortunately I can't give you an estimate on when we finally manage to get to it. I'll be sure to announce it, but also check the SAO Archive every once in a while.
not yet there, though I will wait for it
DeleteIt seems like this one was just taken away from the archive. Wonder what the reason is.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
Deletethank you for bringing this to my attention. The PDF of Clover's Regret Volume 1 is now on the archive again.
Kind regards
Mamue
I still cannot seem to find it (if it's from sao-archive.maamue.de)
DeleteHi,
Deletebrowsers cache content. Clear your cache and you will see it within the Alternative section.
Also, will you be translating Volumes 2 and 3 soon? Now seems like a good time, since Yen Press did not get their hands on this yet.
ReplyDeleteCurrently, I'm in exam hell, so I haven't had any time to work on translations. I do plan to continue working on Clover's Regret, but my first focus will probably be the Alicization BD side story that comes out at the end of the month. I'll probably start working on Clover's Regret after that.
DeleteI bought all three volumes just to collect them but would love to have translations of the second two to actually read (as my Japanese reading skill is still...lacking) I look forward to the day you get around to this!
ReplyDeleteWhen will you release Volume 2?
ReplyDeleteNot sure when or if I'll work on volume 2. Very few people are interested in this series, so it's low on my priority list. Especially since I always find other things to work on, both translation-wise and in real life.
DeleteI'd like to go on record stating that I'd completely love to see the second volume translated. Clover's Regret, much like the Sword Art Online Alternative material, is far more entertaining to me than the base series. I'd love another high quality translation like the first volume got.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought anymore about translating the second volume?
ReplyDeleteI currently don't have the time for such a big project. I might do it when I run out of stuff to work on, but so far I've had higher priority projects to work on.
Deletecan you share the second volume without translate? I had planned to buy it but where I live it is not possible for me to buy it, I would appreciate it very much.
ReplyDeleteodd yen never sold this
ReplyDeleteNot very surprising, to be honest. It's a little-known spin-off by a little-known author set in a little-known game and only had a volume's worth of main story. There's just no interest in doing it.
