You thought we were making a Lycoris manga release to celebrate the release of Lycoris the game... but we actually made a DOUBLE Lycoris manga release to mark the occasion! Especially since a certain scene would lose its... flavour when the majority of players finished the novel route of the game and started playing the Lycoris route.
With this chapter, we've finished covering the entirety of the manga's first volume, as well as the pseudo adaptation of the game's prologue/novel route. I say pseudo because the manga artist apparently had no intention of adapting the novel route properly and just wanted to do some original Lycoris-only scenes as context for its main story - the Lycoris original route. This chapter begins with a post Administrator battle scene of Kirito in a wheelchair, before Eugeo reminisces back on what happened to the cat (though the actual end of the cat tale is left unanswered to prompt people to play the actual game, I guess), as well as Eugeo's encounter with Humbert that apparently triggered the whole Taboo Index debacle in the Lycorisverse.
At this moment, we've (temporarily) caught up with the Japanese raws, since chapter 6 is only coming out on the 17th. Chapter 6 onwards will apparently cover the Lycoris original story route, so the manga artist decided not to release it last month to avoid spoilers.
Seeing as Lycoris is going digital from now on and since the game is already out, so the manga will no longer serve as a teaser for content to come, whether or not we continue translating Lycoris beyond the first volume depends on feedback from our readers. So, if you enjoyed the manga and want to see more of it, be sure to voice your opinion.
